We are gathered here today to get through this thing called DANCE!
It’s time to dance to some Prince! “Let’s Go Crazy” is the song and the class is for YOU.
KANOPY DANCE is located at 341 State Street. You MUST enter through the door between Ragstock and Gap. Other doors marked 341 don’t have access to the studio.
STUDIO 2 When you get to the top of the stairs you will be standing in Studio 1. The door directly in front of you that says “pull” over the handle goes into Studio 2. By the way, the handle is round, but you do not turn it. Just pull. You might have to pull kind of hard.
SHOES Take off your shoes at the top of the stairs. Shoes you wear in from outside cant be worn on the dance floor. They track in too much gunk. Bring another pair of clean-soled shoes with you to put on after you arrive or dance in your socks/barefoot.
DANCERS EVERYWHERE There will be classes in progress when you come in. When you enter Studio 2, you’ll have to walk through a ballet class. They are used to people walking through class. Just be quiet and respectful as you walk to the other side of the room where the chairs are. Wait there and we’ll start as soon as the ballet class is done.
CLOTHES Traditional dance attire is NOT required or expected. But you need full range of motion of your limbs and you’ll break a sweat. Your gym or yoga clothes work great.
OTHER STUFF Drinking fountains, restrooms, and changing rooms are available if you need them. The closest parking is in the metered lot next door to Hop Cat (corner of State and Gorham). The Overture Garage and Capital Garage on Carroll are also a short walk away.
